Not Sure What I Would Find

Today, I'm blogging about something serious. Death.

Conclusion: Don't know nuts about it.

Well, for this past week, it seems like the topics keep revolving around this word. For some people, it's a "Voldemort-He-Who-Cannot-Be-Named" thing, but death is something people should talk about. And blog about.

First mention in the week:

We were discussing black humour in class, and professor says we all know we die some day, but we still live on with blind determination, and I say, pure stubborn-ness. How true. So I'm actually very humorous to be blogging about death openly.

Actually, I'm very afraid of dying. I shudder at the thought. I'm even more scared when it comes to people around me dying. I always cry when I think of this fearful thought. But, the world is fair. Everyone gets to die, at least once. And it's free. Screw capitalism.

I watched "Peaceful Warrior" yesterday on DVD. Actually, the Chinese name for this film is much more meaningful. Literally translated, it says Meeting Socrates at the Gas Station in the Middle of the Night. Ok, it's a mouthful, but it better explains the film. It gets all philosophical about life, and death.

Well, life's about death, isn't it?

Yes, and no. Life is more about living the moment, I think.

Some worthy quotes:

"What has happy got to do with anything?""Everything."

"You could live a whole life without being awake."

"Sometimes you have to lose your life before you come to your senses"

"Death isn't sad, the sad thing is, most people don't live at all."

"There's no starting or stopping, only doing."

Very inspirational. Meant to be inspirational.

Then, yesterday I was listening to A-sang's old songs, and I came across a Chinese cover of this English song that I once loved playing over and over again. Gary Jules' Mad World. Very emo song.

I went searching for it again. And played it over and over again. Here is it. It fits the theme today.

"All around me are familiar faces
Worn out places, worn out faces
Bright and early for their daily races
Going nowhere, going nowhere
Their tears are filling up their glasses
No expression, no expression
Hide my head I want to drown my sorrow
No tomorrow, no tomorrow

And I find it kinda funny
I find it kinda sad
The dreams in which I'm dying
Are the best I've ever had
I find it hard to tell you
I find it hard to take
When people run in circles
It's a very, very mad world mad world

Children waiting for the day they feel good
Happy Birthday, Happy Birthday
Made to feel the way that every child should
Sit and listen, sit and listen
Went to school and I was very nervous
No one knew me, no one knew me
Hello teacher tell me what's my lesson
Look right through me, look right through me

And I find it kinda funny
I find it kinda sad
The dreams in which I'm dying
Are the best I've ever had
I find it hard to tell you
I find it hard to take
When people run in circles
It's a very, very mad world ... world
Enlarge your world
Mad world "

Please do listen to it if you haven't. It's a good song. And the video is quite good.

Lastly, I think death is nothing to get upset about. That's what I want myself to start thinking. It's just a little more radical than puberty. Yes.
